4 tips for selecting quartz stones
Judging by thickness
Real quartz stone can only have four thicknesses: 15mm, 18mm, 20mm, and 30mm. The thickness and load-bearing capacity of quartz stone are directly proportional, and the thicker the thickness, the stronger the load-bearing capacity, and the higher the price naturally.
When choosing quartz stone, we can judge whether it is genuine by its thickness. If it is quartz stone with a thickness of 10mm to 13mm, there is no need to consider it at all, and it can basically be confirmed to be a fake.
Judging by particles
The particles on top of quartz stone can be classified into various types, including large and small, single color particle board, particle with lens board, dual color grain board, multi color grain board, cement board, and so on. The size of particles can indeed play a role in judgment, but it cannot be directly defined.
We can judge by the distribution of quartz particles, if the particles are evenly distributed and small and clear. And the number of particles on the back and front is approximately the same, which is genuine quartz stone. If the particles are large and uneven, with different front and back sides, it is highly likely to be counterfeit.
Judging by hardness
When we go to a physical store to select quartz stones, we can use a key or a knife to pull on the surface of the quartz stones. If the scratches are black, it indicates a high possibility of being genuine. If the scratches are white, it is almost certain that they are fake. Because real quartz stone materials have a greater hardness than steel knives. Even if the steel knife scratches on it, there will be no white scratches.
Judging by fire
Quartz stone is a high-temperature resistant material. When visiting samples, we can use a lighter to burn the quartz stone. If a yellow mark is left and cannot be erased, it means it is a fake. Authentic quartz stone, after being burned, will basically leave no marks when wiped.
