How To Walk On Clay Roof Tiles ?

11-07-2023

Roman Clay roof tiles  are a good roof material because they are more durable than Shingles, but if you apply too much pressure when walking on roman clay roof tile, they may break or burst. Although it is usually best to stay as far away from the roof as possible, if repairs are needed, you can still walk on the tiles. Wait until the weather is good before safely climbing onto the roof. When walking on the tiles, be slow and careful to avoid damaging the tiles.

1.Wait until the tiles are completely dry before going up to the roof. Ceramic tiles have a flat and smooth surface, so when you step on them, they do not generate a lot of grip. Once the tiles are wet, they will become smoother and may cause you to slip. If it has rained recently or if your roof has become wet for any reason, please wait for 1-2 days so that the tiles have time to dry before standing on top. Do not climb onto the roof when it is damp, as this will increase the likelihood of falling

2. Wear soft soled shoes to prevent damage to the tiles. Avoid wearing thick shoes or boots with hard soles as they are more likely to damage the tiles and you cannot walk around. Look for shoes with soft rubber soles with grip, such as sports shoes or lightweight work boots, so that when you walk on tiles, you can gain better traction on them. Do not wear open toe shoes, such as sandals or Flip-flops, because they cannot provide protection if you slip or fall accidentally.

3. Climb the ladder to safely enter the roof. Choose a ladder that is 3 feet (0.91 meters) higher than the edge of the roof, so you can climb it safely. Place the bottom of the ladder at a height of 1/4 from your home and ensure that it is on a level ground to maintain stability. When climbing a ladder, always maintain three contact points so that you are less likely to lose balance or fall.

3. For example, if you have a 16 foot (4.9 m) ladder, you can place its base 4 feet (1.2 m) away from your home. Please help hold the ladder when climbing it, so that it is unlikely to fall off

4. If the roof is steep, please use a seat belt. The seat belt secures you to the roof, so that even if you slip, you won't fall all the way to the ground. Thread your legs through the loop on the seat belt and tighten them around your thighs. Wrap the top of the seat belt around the waist and fasten it to ensure safety. Tie a rope to a sturdy object on the roof (such as a chimney) as an anchor point to prevent falling.
